Her poem is featured on its own page and she received a $50.00 savings bond. This is quite an achievement as several thousand poems entered the contest. Congratulations Alexis! Visit www.poeticpower.com for more information about this contest and other resources.
Fire in My Eyes by Alexis Leon-Guerrero
Fire glooms in my eyes
When I look in the sky
It makes me feel nice and warm
When I stand right next to the fire
In the fire I can see
Flames rising from it
In the fire when it shines
I can see that you love me.
