Sonoran Science Academy is a college preparatory charter school with 150 high school students. The mission of SSA is college preparation for students to achieve success through a science and mathematics instructional program that includes high educational standards, a liberal arts foundation and well-rounded academic excellence.
Sonoran Science Academy-Tucson (SSA) proudly announces that Brett Rowley, senior, has qualified as a finalist in the 53rd annual National Merit Scholarship Program. This is an opportunity to compete for Merit Scholarship awards worth a total of $35 million.
To become a finalist, Rowley and a school official submitted a scholarship application which included a self-descriptive essay and information on his participation and leadership in school and community activities. His outstanding academic record which earned high SAT scores confirmed the earlier Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test performance.
