There are three things that really matter in education: the quality of the teachers, the quality of the curriculum and the motivation of the students. At SSA, we try to do all we can to help maintain the highest possible morale, to implement rigorous curriculum and to stimulate student motivation.
Below are the benefits that are offered by the Daisy Education Corporation to all of the employees, as well as some recent changes.
- Retirement - Currently, DEC offers employees a 403(b) retirement program and pleased to announce that the Board of Directors has voted to have the Arizona State Retirement System instead in the next school year. Starting August 1, 2008 all employees and DEC will be contributing (mandatory, 9.6% of the payroll) to the Arizona State Retirement System, and SSA will match the same amount (9.6%). The current 403(b) program will terminate on July 31, 2008.
- Health insurance - Pacificare has increased their rates by 22%. Starting February 15th, paycheck fees deducted from employee paycheck for insurance premiums for the employee rate will increase 22% for a total of $50.00 per month. If employees already have an insurance for their children or spouse please let us know and we will provide new rates. Employees may opt for cash benefit in lieu of health benefit as well when renewing the contract.
- Dental insurance - DEC offers dental insurance for singles or families. The rates have not changed and will continue at the rates previously given.
- AFLAC - This insurance is offered to employees and is covered 100% by the employee.
- Social Security, Medicare - DEC continues to withhold and pay into the Social Security and Medicare programs for each employee.
